If possible can you allow people to donate any amount they want?
I did $100 donation and transaction Id is 4V64496321804025H. I have sent this information to all of my friends. There might be some people who want to donate but less than $100 one time donation.
My understanding is that IV is having around 24,000 members and even if everybody donates $2 then it will be around $46K. So if possible please send a mail to all the members to do at least $5 donation.

Does anyone has recently got I-485 approval after porting priority date from earliar EB3 filing.
My I-140 got approved 2 weeks back and based on priority date, I am current. Ny EB3 485 was filed in July 2007.
How long it is taking for I485 to get approved after I-140 approval when the priority date is current.

I watched the video and One of the things I noticed was the difficulty the State dept is facing to keep the numbers within limitation so they tend to achieve 90%-95% because the legislative limitation doesn't allow them to go beyond even by few numbers
When i compare the same situation with that of an IPO of a company. Typically a company coming out with an IPO will have certain number of shares authorized to sell, In addition to that they also reserve certain small number in addition to these to accommodate any excess shares issued by the underwriters.
Why don't we have some numbers similar to that. This would make the life of the State dept much easier.

I am confused about receipt date?
Notice date is when the receipt notice is generated- That's simple
Is receipt date the date when they do data entry into the system or is it the date when they receive the package even though they may do data entry a month later?
In other words people who filed there application on July 2nd,3rd etc ... and lets say USCIS takes 2 months to receipt those cases.. then after 2 months when the notice is generated won't it have a July 2nd receipt date? for July 2 filers?

the construction boom has seen some upward movement in the lower classes also. try finding an electrician or plumber in any big city in India to do some small chore.
also remember that the big cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyd/Secunderabad, NOIDA, Guragaon etc. and satellite areas) are seeing the huge rise in prices. These also coincide with the centers of tremendous progress and huge purchase power for people. Smaller cities also have a hike in prices but nothing comparable. So the average Indian does not really get affected a lot. The average city dweller is either renting by paying a ton of money or is spending a ton of money for a house. Scary thing is either ways they are able to afford it. Makes the US salary seem meaningless in comparison (comparing quality of life here and not just money).

One one hand you have folks who are getting labor approvals from BECs just now and have not filed I-140s.
On other hand you have PERM folks who have Labor, I-140 certified in 2 weeks.
Don't you think this provision is a bit harsh on those who've waited 3+ years for labor in BECs ?
Not a bit harsh but very harsh. There are cases of people who have waited for 5 years and are still stuck in BEC. Now if this bill passes, they will have to apply all over again. There are also people who have gone through the PERM process and have not applied I140. Sometimes PERM process can take upto 1 year if the HR and Lawyer is slow in the recruitment process and unresponsive.
On other hand you have PERM folks who have Labor, I-140 certified in 2 weeks.

As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I agree with ItIsNotFunny. The very least the IV core team can do is post updates on what they are up to. That way if someone believes in a particular initiative that IV is undertaking wants to help, they can contact the concerned IV core team member and offer to help.
I am sure instead of the core team trying to burden themselves with all the work, if they let individuals who believe in particular cause to help them, then life would be a lot easier for everyone. I guess that would also get more people involved with IV.
I know I am out of the rat race, so if you think I am being patronizing, my apologies.

Yeah but if the PDs are set as unavailable, what can they do about those cases anyway, as the priority date has to be current on the day of approval in the consulate.
Furthermore, unlike with 485s they can't consular process 18K cases on a Sunday! It is not a centralised process for them to do that.
I think they have to be current when they get an appointment or something like that. I am pretty sure that they accounted those 18k as CP numbers

you might want to contact the indian community that donated to Hillary and inform them with her vote against immigrants. they need to write her a letter asking for answers. she has to know that legal immigrants have supports from their communities like this community that donated money ($2M is a lot of money and should have a word for it)

Boat 1 is better for me, If I know for sure that Boat 2 will drown me in the ocean. In the heat of the moment, you might not see the consequences of the security lapse rumors.
The established truth so far is
USCIS used all the numbers ahead of time and shut the door on highly skilled immigrants on day one
DOS revised its July 2007 visa bulletin on day one 1, which has not happened in a long time or never.
The wind mill stories are
Some law firms started hallucinating that the security checks were never done. They themselves do not know for sure. If you go and look towards the end of the blog post where it originated, he asks for confirmation instead of telling his resources.
Do you know that there were people who got their GC in 45-60 days last year? I know some personally. The security check and how they say its done or not done has always been esoteric to us. Last year, some one put up the blog of a Taiwanese guy who got labor,140,485 approved in a span of 5-6 months. How can this happen? AFAIK, all the people who got their GC's have PD's like 2003 and 2004. Please do not sling mud, when we do not know for sure, esp when the issues are of paramount importance like security. My DL expring in Sept. filed for 10th year extenison, I live in NY.
NY DL have 2 dates, One in Top with RED Bold letters its called Temp Visa Date and at botton DL exprie date. I have contacted in DMV office. They said I can drive using bottom Exprie date which is exprie in 2010(mine) ,But I cant use the DL as ID if Temp VISA expire on DL.Unless I renew it with approved H1B visa date.So I have to Carry Passport ,recepit copy and Employer lettter with all time just as proof if cop caught me.

We cannot start a S-corp on EAD. Need to be GC holder or US Citizen.
The Internal Revenue Code provides that a Corporation filed with any U.S. state shall be taxed under "Subchapter C." This essentially means that all Corporations start out as C-Corporations for tax purposes.
Should a Corporation's owners later wish to be taxed as an S-Corporation, they would file a "Subchapter S" federal tax election (Form 2553) within 75 days of incorporating or within 75 days of the beginning of the calendar year. To do this, the Corporation would need to have less than 100 owners, all of whom must be either U.S. Citizens or permanent resident aliens ("green card" holders). Once the "S" tax election is made, the return to be filed is the 1120 "S", rather than the 1120. Whether or not you decide to be taxed as an S-Corporation, your company is still a "General Corporation" in the eyes of the state of incorporation.
