Hello,
My I-140 was approved in August 2009 and my PD is Jan-2004 (EB3). I want to know when i can apply for I-485, should i have to wait till my PD becomes Current or is there any other way by which i can file the I-485. Please shed some light on this topic and thanks for your time and effort.
Thanks ! !
You need to wait for your PD become current...may be in 2019.
good luck.

Is it from receipt date based on receipt notice OR filing date( actual date when USCIS received your 485 package)?

It takes a lot of razzle dazzle for a state attorney general to make national headlines on a regular basis, but Virginia Attorney Generaly Ken Cuccinelli is doing his best. His latest attention-grab is his issuing an opinion yesterday that law enforcement officers in the state can ask anyone in the state they stop for another reason about their immigration status. He draws an odd distinction - that officers have the discretion to ask or not ask and are not required to do so. This just seems to make racial profiling even more likely and doesn't at all address the...

You cannot apply for I-485 unless I-140 is approved as EB1 is purely based on I-140 not labor.

Guys,
I think many of us would be in this situation. I am using my EAD for work and last year used AP to enter US. Parole Officer Stamped one year of validity date on my I-94 that is paroled until March 2009. Now I have new EAD which is valid for two years 2010 and New AP Dec' 2009 for one year of travel. My understanding was your date on I-94 indicates your legal status. So what would happen to my status once i stay after March 2009? I am planning to travel to India in June 2009.
Appreciate any help

Hi giveit,
The background is easy, find a picture that you like, add it to a layer temporarily, draw over the main areas ie doors walls windows etc then go back and fil in those areas with colour, then delete the layer with the pic on.
As for the man walking its a bit more complicated, I may be able to help out, Which direction is he walking ie Diagonally, vertically,
up, down etc.
Let me know and i'll see what I can do.

My I-485 has been pending for more than 6 months now. I have an EAD but I got an RFE on my AP. I don't know what its about as I have not received the RFE yet.
I am thinking of changing my job. In my new job I don't want to use my EAD since my AP status is still hanging. Can I keep working on H1-B visa as I still have 3.5 years left on my H1? If I travel outside the country, can I re-enter with a valid H-1B visa? Can this cause an abandonment of AOS if I enter on H-1B while my AOS is pending? Please let me know. Thank you.

I am trying set up an appointment for the last week of April (Apr 27-May 1) in Matamoros, Mexico and came across the following website about their wait times:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/tempvisitors_wait_result.php?post=Matamoros&x=46&y=12
For Matamoros, it says
Typical Wait Time (Calendar Days*) for a Nonimmigrant Visa Interview Appointment
Visitors Visas: 15 Days
Student/Exchange Visitors Visas *** (Excludes: A, G, K, and V): 15 Days
All Other Nonimmigrant Visas: 15 Days
Typical Wait Time (Workdays**) for a Nonimmigrant Visa To Be Processed****: 28 Days
1) Does it mean that I can setup my H1-B Visa Appointment only before 15 days of Apr 27th?
2) What does Typical Wait Time (Workdays**) for a Nonimmigrant Visa To Be Processed****: 28 Days mean? Does it mean that it will typically take 28 days to get Visa stamping after your interview?
Thanks

Roll Call reports that Reid is also now talking about passing the bill in the lame duck session of Congress after the election.

For what it's worth, I was a Nikon pro card carrier back in the '70's. It was a FABULOUS service. I was allowed to borrow expensive gear for free that I would never have used otherwise (e.g. radio-remote release, medical telephoto with built-in ring flash, nikonos)
And the "go the head of the line" repair service saved me more than once. While I was vacationing in California I needed some urgent repairs and was told by the local main Nikon repair shop that their backlog even for "urgent" repairs was 3 months. I flashed my pro card and it was in the repair shop by 10:00 and out by noon!
