I asked his stance on the bills, she told me he is still considering them, needs to understand them better, etc. I mentioned I am from IV & I support the 3 bills, she replied "Yes, we got lot of calls & I already:) know the bill #'s you are supporting" :o

I have had no problems with them. I always got my emails/ calls answered from my attorney and paralegal in less than a day. They were always reachable. All my paperwork was filed per the timelines that were communicated to me. I could not ask for more. They were awesome

getgreensoon1 with you being a junior memeber how on the earth were you able to get a quote of my post if all my post have been stopped and nothing i post gets on any page.
Now that sounds fishy and it looks like you are an admin or a donor who has access to the web page and are hiding under a junior member name named getgreensoon1. this confirms what i am thinking that all that psotive money posts were all fakes and created by a few members like you to dupe the public into thinking you have such a big support. Of course, much more work needs to be done here... hope folks in NORCAL are listening!
At my workplace, about 50% of them have have signed this letter now! This is including but not limited to employees with an immigrant background ( including but not limied to the Indians and the Chinese!)
My tally is now up to 253. Expecting another 2 this evening from a friend who got it from 2 of his own friends.
Recruit friends & strangers to help you, then follow up a little bit, it helps!

Thanks to people with your mentality, nobody reacted - if such awareness was ever able to trigger action - against the 245(i) amnesty and that is one of the reasons why you are stuck. Keep up with your rose mentality if that makes you feel good.

To any member who has been looking at some of the posts since April/May of this year it will be apparant that there has been an attempt by the ultra conservative, anti-immigration groups to create a divide among legal and so called illegal immigration issues. It was good to see that most members perceived this and stayed away from singing the legal vs illegal immigration tune.
Now comes the lame attempt to play on your fears again. What would happen to you if all these so called "illegals" were to get in line ahead of you? The knee-jerk reaction is so obvious. If you see deeper, you will find that all this is BS and just wenting of frustration by the anti-immigration groups. There is a precedent for this behaviour. After the CIR was passed in Senate in May earlier this year, these same anti-immigration group members posted so many inflamatory posts that created a bad vibe on this forum. Well today is a redo of that. Just count the number of posts and you will know what I mean. ;) I urge all members to look at the new ray of hope provided by the change in the new congress and ignore attempts to dampen your enthusiasm in garb of fair and balanced aka an anti-immigration spin :)

Most countries do not have 9,800 EB applicants every year - in fact, most countries use well under 1,000.
The total number of applicants from other countries can be derived from roughly estimating number if H1 holders, adjusting for Indians and Chinese, and then dividing by 2 (50% of H1Bs never end up getting a green card), and then multiplying by 2 to adjust for derivatives. The bottom line - there are visas available in EB2 ROW and EB1 categories (which are current, meaning, undersubscribed), that are getting redistributed to EB3 ROW. This is why EB3 in total is using more than its share of 140,000 EBs. In fact, I believe the dates will be moving pretty fast on EB3 ROW, it will probably get all current in a couple of years.
Yes. The overflow will go to EB3 ROW first and then to the over subscribed countries and will get evoporate :) The avaiable visa's then goes back to square one. This is why at times EB3 ROW is also getting back logged and many in ROW oppose this trend as well.
I am of the opinion that there should not be any country specific quota in EB at all. Understandable that Economic Stimumus Package is not a federal recuring benefit. However, ITIN holders (H4s) are eligible to claim child tax credit, why not this stiumuls benefit?. They should be given this benefit if they meet residency requirement. One should contact IRS to include ITIN holders to clain this benefit.
The IRS cannot make exceptions, since it is written in the law. However, the Social Security Act does not say that the benefit has to be recurring. I did get a reply today from the SSA. They claim the stimulus payment is a tax rebate, not a benefit. However, it cannot be a tax rebate, since the law was written to allow people with no income to apply for the check. There are even instructions on the IRS website that explain how people with no income can apply for the check. I am in the process of getting the opinion of an attorney. I will update you soon.
One last thing. I recommend that any discussions you have with the SSA be in writing. The SSA manager wanted to discuss this with me over the phone, but I insisted on written correspondence, because that is the only proof you have if this ever goes to litigation. The documents I have gotten so far already contain errors and contradictions that could be helpful in a legal case.

I know the discussion is about how many visas are remaining and we are trying to estimate it based on approved labour petitions. While the PERM data may be more reliable I have my serious doubts about the pre-PERM data. My PD is Jul 2004 and my case does not even show up in the 2004 MDB file. I think the 905 number is a severe understatement.
